Influenced by a deep heritage, womanhood, and cultural appreciation, artist Barbara Mendes creates vibrant and dreamy paintings that carry powerful messages and storytelling.
Later in life she was introduced to her Jewish roots, and was inspired to create art reflecting this newfound knowledge and history that lay dormant within.
Entire Book of Leviticus totaling 859 images, depicting each verse of the book!
Ms. Mendes recently reignited her comic book art after 50 years, creating Queen of Cosmos Comix 1 & 2, and is currently working on print 3!
The life, joy and energy radiating from these works are a true reflection of Ms. Mendes’ spirit and enthusiasm for creating.
She’s not only a reminder of the rich history we carry within (whether known or unknown), but of the unlimited abilities and inspiration flowing through us all.

4/22/23 : Lakers vs. Grizzlies
NBA Playoffs: Round 1, Game 3

It was a legendary night in LA, as the Lakers faced the Memphis Grizzlies in game 3 of the Western Conference quarterfinals.
This night marked the Lakers’ first home playoff game with a full crowd in 10 years (last seen 4/28/13).
LA started off the game on fire, leading the Grizzlies 36-9 by the end of the first quarter, and tying the largest first quarter lead in NBA playoff history (26pts).
The crowd’s energy helped carry this momentum, ending the night with an impressive 111-101 Lakers victory over the Grizzlies.
