From FDR’s speech after December 7th to radio broadcasts after 9/11, to the fall of Corregidor, there are hundreds of wonderful memories. The Vets Corner covers all military services for all wars, but the WWII collection is super. Do you recall the military newspaper Stars and Stripes? Here are the old issues. | The Old Timers section highlights some folks who were behind the scenes, second bananas or did something, besides just being famous. Here you will find a hundred or more Gold Year’s names you thought you had forgotten. What ever became of Dagmar, Julius LaRosa, Spike Jones, Ma Kettle, or Don McNeil? Who is, Jimmy Angel, A.J. Higgins or Stoopnagle? Do you recall Boxcar Willie, Caryl Chessman, Charles Atlas, and many other Household Names of years gone by? Who do you think we are missing? Contact us. Sports Biographies is a companion site that recalls the great players from the golden years and more. Here you can find Joe DiMaggio and family, or Tony Conigliaro and Bob Buckner. How about Billy Conn and Tony DeMarco? These are from the monster facts site and offer a lot of short histories. But the good old days are about more than people. It was an era when the automobile replaced a horse as man’s close friend. On this link, Great Old Cars, you can see all the cars you owned over the years. You can even capture some photos and make a collage of your favorites. You can also see today’s prices and kick yourself for junking that 1951 Hudson! Then there was the music of the Golden Years! Remember when you could understand the words they sang? Remember when music was inspirational? One of the good advances we did not have back then was Internet Radio. Under My Favorite Vocalists, enter Perry Como, Ella, Percy Faith or the Four Aces and the Pandora internet radio site will play that type of music on your PC connection 24/7. Or go to Hits of the 50s and 60s and hear electronic recordings of the popular music of any year you choose. Its companion is Heartbeats of the 50s and 60s which is a fun site with Music and facts, selected from that era of golden entertainment. Play one of these sites in the background and it sets you in the mood to review the Good Old Days.
